On a pretty positive weekend for the whole Prema Powerteam, the Italian squad captured a new podium finish in the Abarth European Series round held at Spielberg. Luca Ghiotto confirmed himself as one of the top rookie racers in the championship. The young, Vicenza-based racer hit third place on race 1 by providing a steady performance over the full distance. He kept scoring some valuable points on race 2 as he ended up in 6th to round out Prema's trip in-style. Angelo Rosin and his team fielded three cars on-track this time by pairing regulars Ghiotto and Vicky Piria with newcomer Bruno Bonifacio. Unfazed by the contact that put him out of contention on race 1, the Brazilian youngster recovered back to 7th place after starting from the rear.
Angelo Rosin, Team Principal
“Our drivers showed they have temper as well as great speed skills. In a difficult race like Saturday's one, with the rain coming and going all the time, Luca ended up on the podium while Vicky recovered from an early mistake and took a 12th spot as her best result. At his series' debut, Bruno was involved in an early tangle, but recovered great on race 2 by moving up from last to 7th. It's been a great result and once again a display of quality from our cars and drivers".
