Formula Abarth Press Release
Prema Powerteam is proud to have reached an agreement with young former go-kart racer Luca Ghiotto for the 2011 Italian and European Formula ACI-CSAI Abarth championships. Ghiotto, born on February 24, 1995 in Arzignano, is a second-generation racer, son of former Formula 3 and Prototype driver Franco Ghiotto. In his kart racing career, Ghiotto entered the World's top events and achieved some really positive results.
"The goal of the F.ACI-CSAI championship is to help young talents to grow stronger and successfully climb their learning curve in motorsports. I think we met the expectations during our 2010 experience and this season I'm really happy to work with a young guy coming from go-karts like Luca Ghiotto. We'll be following a thorough working schedule, from winter testing to all this season's races in both the Italian and International championship."
"I had almost decided to spend 2011 in go-kart racing, while attending the Federation's young drivers course, and training for the 2012 Formula Abarth. At the course, I preformed good with both the F.Abarth and the Formula 3 cars, and that changed my plans for the season. We decided to chose Prema because it is an experienced, really high-level team, and I've known Angelo Rosing for a long time. This season, we'll have a lot of work to do and I'll have to learn a lot in the first few races. I will need to be fully-focused in order to achieve some good results early".
