The FIA European F.3 Championship is about to line-up at Pau, a French town close to the Pyrenees mountains. After their sensational season start at the Hockenheim ring with three wins in three races, Prema Powerteam will field their four regular Mercedes-powered Dallaras for Daniel Juncadella, Michael Lewis, Raffaele Marciello and Sven Muller. For the occasion, the European Championship will be joined by the British F.3 championship to form an highly challenging line-up. Although the grid will be the same, points will be awarded separately.
A total 25 cars are set to race within the streets of Pau, including several top-notch contenders. The Pau streetcourse is one of the most historical of Europe alongside Monte Carlo. Drivers won't be allowed to make any mistake: the close guard rails and sidewalks will provide no room for errors. The weekend, which is set to be even more demanding than usual, will feature just two races, unlike in the other, 3-race rounds.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"Pau is a different racetrack compared to the others, it might be similar to Macau but it isn't fast like the Asian venue. It's closer to Monte Carlo, where Formula 3 cars haven't raced for quite some time. Last year, Juncadella has been a major star, while Lewis, Marciello and Muller will make their debut and it won't be easy for them. We'll provide them with our best support and they will also benefit from the advice coming from their experienced team-mate. The presence of drivers coming from the British F.3 Series will add a tough variable to an already high-profile challenge."
