Lucas Auer is one of the new drivers of Prema Powerteam for the 2013 FIA Formula 3 European championship campaign. The 18-year-old Austrian ended up as a runner-up in last season's German F.3 Championship and already experienced some considerable success as he cruised to the 2011 JKRacing championship aboard a Formula BMW. This season he will be powered by a Mercedes engine for the first time in his career.
Auer, who was born in Kufstein, has showed outstanding skills so far and he's considered one of the best young drivers of his country. He will be entering the whole 2013 season.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"Auer is a very interesting driver and we look forward to working with him throughout the season. He is fast, technical and has the right elements to aim at prestigious results. I'm proud that he decided to choose our team, and also together with the already-confirmed Alex Lynn we will be able to rely on two of the most talented prospects in Europe".
“Prema Powerteam is one of the teams with most successes in the past years. I`m very happy to be part of the team now. I`ve got really strong team mates and I`m sure this will push me to improve and do better during the race weekends. So I`m really looking forward to the 2013 season.”
