Eddie Cheever will line-up with Prema Powerteam in the 2013 FIA Formula 3 Europea Championship. The Italian-based squad, managed by Angelo Rosin, completed a competitive roster for the upcoming season in an effort to repeat a domination that started back in 2011. Cheever will drive a Mercedes-powered Dallara alongside his three team-mates, the already-confirmed Lucas Auer, Alex Lynn and Raffaele Marciello.
Cheever, son of former F.1 racer Eddie Sr., will be at his international debut and is back to Prema after entering a successful 2012 season in the Italian F.3 Series. The 19-year-old Italian will be relying on a well-known environment and despite facing a new car, new tracks and new opponents, his aim is to join the frontrunners' pack from the very beginning.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"I'm proud to continue with Eddie. He performed great in the Italian Championship and, at that point, moving to the European series seemed like a logical step in our great partnership. Cheever will be a rookie but since he's following the same path of Marciello, I'm sure he will impress us too. He has the maturity he needs to make it in this year's competition".
"I'm very happy and honored to continue with Prema for 2013. I hope to repeat the successful 2012 results in such a competitive category like the FIA Formula 3 European Championship".
