The successful relationship between Italian racer Luca Ghiotto and Prema Powerteam will continue in 2013 for a third straight season. The 17-year-old driver (who will be turning 18 on the next 24th of February) has extended his deal with Angelo Rosin and his squad in an effort to continue to build on their very solid foundations. After having raced in Formula Abarth in the last couple of seasons, with a 6th place overall in 2011 and a runner-up spot in 2012, Luca will join Prema for the 2013 Eurocup Formula Renault. He will also return full-time to the F.Renault ALPS series after entering the last two rounds of 2012. The Prema-Ghiotto combination will be an all-Italian one, the only in the Renault Sport-promoted series.

Angelo Rosin - Team Principal

"Luca is part of our family. He moved his first steps in open-wheel racing with us after stepping up from kart racing… and never left. We saw him grow up and get more and more experienced, and not only from a racing point of view. He's a great driver and he proved it with his runs in Formula Abarth last season. He also impressed in Formula Renault ALPS, and he's ready to challenge any kind of rival. As we get set to a grand return to the Renault racing scene, we decided to keep working together and aim high".

Luca Ghiotto

"Being able to be back to the Prema ranks once again makes me clear-headed and determined. I started my open-wheel career with them, they taught me a lot and we scored some very positive results in the F.Abarth Series. Staying with Angelo Rosin and his team for this new experience in the Eurocup F.Renault and F.Renault ALPS feels like a natural choice. I don't see myself racing elsewhere. It's gonna be a tough and long season, with a lot of races. But as we demonstrated in late 2012, we can stay among the frontrunners since the earliest stages.
