Prema Powerteam and Roberto Mehri will be facing their first match-ball at Valencia, in the penultimate round of the 2011 Formula 3 Euro Series. The Spaniard, born not too far away from the circuit in Castellon, is set to enter three decisive races of his championship bid. With an early title, he'll be able to bring Prema a title missing since 2003, when Ryan Briscoe won the European competition. Fielded on a Mercedes-powered Dallara, Mehri has totaled 304 points until now, while German Marco Wittman, his closest rival, sits at 228. Mehri's team-mate Daniel Juncadella is standing in third with 220 points, and he's aiming at a runner-up spot to round a successful year out in-style. Running on the team's third racecar, Gianmarco Raimondo's goal will be to collect as many points as possible.
René Rosin - Team Manager
"We're approaching Valencia aware that this weekend could well be an unforgettable one for Prema, though we can't afford to lose our concentration in order to achieve our goals. Our opponents definitely won't back down and we will have to work hard in order to give our best. And if we'll have the chance to battle for an early title it'll be great, if not we'll wait for the closing round at Hockenheim on October the 23rd. In such an high-quality series like this is, you can't afford to think you gained the title before the proper time".
