The Italian F.3 Championship is ready to starts its new era this season with the new Italian Formula 3 European Series featuring three races outside the Italian borders. Valencia will be hosting the first round this weekend and Prema Powerteam will be fielding three FPT-powered Dallaras for Eddie Cheever, Brandon Maisano and Henrique Martins. Their clear goal will be to aim at the overall title that the team just slightly missed last season. Eddie Cheever jr is ready for his second season in Formula 3 after an impressive run so far in winter testing. Maisano will be at his second year too, lining-up with the Ferrari Driver Academy, and definitely want to leave his mark on 2012. Martins will be the team's rookie but coming from the European F.Renault ground, he proved to be ready to take his next step towards the top.
Angelo Rosin, Team Principal “The championship is featuring some new technical aspects including an increase in the FPT engine's power figures. That will definitely add more value to the series. We don't have any previous experience with the Italian F.3 at Valencia, but we are starting from the good base set in the Euro Series and in winter testing. Maisano wasn't there though, so he'll have to learn a new track for him. On the other hand, the results scored by Cheever and Martins were quite impressive".
