It's been a positive weekend for Prema Powerteam at Moscow Raceway in the third round of the 2013 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series. Bruno Bonifacio and Luca Ghiotto managed to end the two races into the points confirming the great results scored by Angelo Rosin and his men at Spa-Francorchamps. Back in Belgium, the Italian had scored one win, while his Brazilian team-mate had ended up onto the podium.
Despite not having run at the Russian racetrack in the past unlike the other teams, both the team's drivers and their engineers managed to find a good balance, enabling both Ghiotto and Bonifacio to score third places in their respective Qualifying 1 groups. As a result, they shared row 3 in Race 1. On a track where passing is notably difficult, Luca finished in 5th in front of Bruno, while they rounded out the top-5 of Group A and B in the second session. After taking-off from the 5th row in Race 2, Bonifacio managed to improve his position at the start. He finished in 8th, right in front of Ghiotto. The Italian is now holding 5th place in standings, while Bonifacio stands in 8th.
Angelo Rosin – Team Principal
“On a complicated track to approach which was also new to us, we managed to stay at the front of the pack enabling Bonifacio and Ghiotto to keep into the points zone. It's definitely a satisfaction for us considered the high quality level of the series. We also added more points to our toll after the ones at Spa-Francorchamps and now we'll line-up at Spielberg, a track we know well and where we hope to have our say for wins".
