The Baku Grand Prix Circuit, home to the 2019 European Grand Prix, is set to welcome teams and drivers of the FIA Formula 2 Championship for another far step away from home. Back to the same place where it scored considerable success in the past, PREMA Racing will continue the 2019 season with its line-up of Mick Schumacher and Sean Gelael, who are both ready for round 2 at the Caspian venue.
The German racer, coming from a positive debut in the opening round at Al Sakhir, is ready to tackle the 6-kilometre street course where he will try to maximize his learning in such a unique environment, made of fast straights and tight technical corners with no room for mistakes. For him, the event will mark the comeback to the Formula 2 Dallara racecar after his Formula 1 debut in the post-race rookie testing session in Bahrain.
The Indonesian also expressed great potential in Bahrain and will try to turn it into points after scoring a top-10 finish in last year's race 1. He already secured a top-10 this season too thanks to a great comeback in round 1 so there is room for more satisfaction for the team in one of the most challenging yet fascinating trips of the year.
René Rosin - Team Principal
"Baku is an extremely challenging circuit but it has been good for us in the past so maybe there will be the right chemistry this time too. We are coming well-prepared and with a consistent pairing of drivers. I think Mick will be even more motivated than usual after making his F1 testing debut, while Sean wants to fight back after not collecting the dividends for his work in Bahrain."
