A friendly location will welcome the PREMA Powerteam European Formula Regional operation this weekend at Mugello. The flowing Tuscan venue, featuring its variety of up-and-down, high-speed corners, saw the team clinch the title in advance in 2019, with Frederik Vesti prevailing in the inaugural edition of the championship.
With such a promising omen, the four full-time PREMA Powerteam drivers are back after the sensational results scored in the previous round at Red Bull Ring, with three full podium lockouts in three races.
Gianluca Petecof will line-up as the championship leader. The 17-year-old Brazilian has been in great shape recently with five consecutive poles and four wins overall. He leads the series in front of teammate Arthur Leclerc (19). The racer from Monte Carlo scored four poles and three wins so far and is trailing Petecof in points.
Not too far stands Dane Oliver Rasmussen (19), who cruised to two wins this year and has emerged as a competitive championship contender wishing to make further steps forward. Last but not least, 22-year-old Jamie Chadwick experienced a troubled weekend in Austria, but exited the round with growing momentum and seems set for a positive run at Mugello.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"I'm really impressed by how the team is performing this season. All our drivers have shown great potential, and they have been equally matched, which is always good. No race weekend is ever easy though, and since we expect tough weather at Mugello, we will need the maximum concentration to keep our positive record intact."
