The Formula Regional European Championship is set for its third trip outside the Italian borders for 2020 at Circuit the Barcelona-Catalunya. The series will line-up at the Spanish Grand Prix venue for round 6 with a raging fight for the title involving three PREMA Powerteam drivers.
Gianluca Petecof is having the upper hand at the moment after a tense event at Monza. The 18-year-old delivered two valuable second-place finishes in round 5, and heading towards an unknown track for him, he relies on a 9-point margin on teammate Arthur Leclerc. The Monte Carlo-based driver suffered a DNF in race 2 at Monza but is ready to rebound at the same venue where he recently made his FIA F3 testing debut.
Oliver Rasmussen is sitting third in the series, not far away from the Ferrari Driver Academy duo. The 19-year-old Dane was the best scorer for the team at Monza, and secured his third win of the year at the fast Italian venue, in an effort to continue capitalizing every possible occasion.
Jamie Chadwick again showed great potential at Monza, where racing circumstances hampered her learning process. The British female racer is hoping for a smoother run on a track that is new for many of her competitors too.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"The last event at Monza showed us that our competitors are alive and kicking, and a championship is not over until it's over. We are still sitting at the top of the points standings, but that doesn't mean that we can relax or make mistakes for free. Handling the competition between our drivers is challenging, but we look forward to providing all of them with the best possible chance to use their full potential and fight for the wins at Barcelona."
