Press Release Formula 3 Italia
Prema Powerteam is proud to announce the agreement reached with Raffaele Marciello for the 2011 F.3 Italia championship. Marciello, part of the Ferrari Driving Academy program, ended up 3rd in the 2010 F.ACI-CSAI Abarth. Born in 1994, he made his debut in open-wheel competition in 2010 by emerging as one of the series' major stars. During his first F.3 experiences over the winter, Marciello was able to tame the category's demanding racecars and join the top drivers' circle. He already entered two test days with Prema, and merged with the team since the first moment. He will be lining-up alongside the already-confirmed American racer Michael Lewis.
Angelo ROSIN – Team Principal:
"Marciello was one of our off-season targets for the 2011 F.3 Italia, and we're extremely happy to have him on one of our Fiat FPT-powered Dallaras. In his first tests, the guy showed an outstanding outright talent, and a really rare ability to adapt. I'm persuaded we'll be aiming to some top-notch results this season".
“I'm really happy and proud to enter the 2011 F.3 Italia Championship together with Prema. It's a sensational opportunity for me, and of course a new challenge. I'll be facing it with a lot of enthusiasm thanks to the extremely professional nature of the team. I can't wait to start working, because I'm sure that we will be able to score great results from the very beginning".
