Press Release Formula 3 Euro Series
Roberto Mehri has joined Prema Powerteam for the 2011 Formula 3 Euro Series season and for the 2011 International Formula 3 Trophy. The Castellon-based Spaniard, born in 1991, is unanimously considered among the best prospects of the European motorsports panorama of the last few years. He had his first contact with Prema at the end of 2010, running in the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix Grand Prix. Aboard a Mercedes-powered Dallara, the 20-year-old racer will pair fellow countryman Daniel Juncadella, who was confirmed after a really positive run in 2010. Together, they will be forming one of the strongest combinations in the championship. Mehri has built a solid experience in the F.3 Euro Series, as he'll be entering his third season after 2009 and 2010, when he respectively captured 7th and 5th place. In 2008, he's been one of the main stars of the F.Renault Eurocup season, ending up in 4th place.
Angelo ROSIN - Team Principal
"I really hoped to keep working with Roberto Mehri, after the great experience we had together at Macau on the last November. We know how much talented he is, after having battled with him as a rival in the past two seasons. He's got fantastic speed skills, and now we are finally able to have him on one of our racecars full-time. Together with Daniel Juncadella, he'll be part of one of the strongest driver line-ups in the series. There's no doubt in saying that our goal is to win the highest possible number of races in 2011."
“It's a pleasure for me to confirm my relationship with the Team Prema. Our efforts during the Macau GP Event proved we can do very well together, and I'm fully committed to do my very best racing season so far. Our target is to win the championship: I firmly believe this is possible, despite the very high level of my contenders. I'm working hard to improve my performances through a better training, and I can't wait to drive my car in March.”
