The Formula Abarth championship will be back running this weekend at Misano, where both the Italian and the European series are set to be held jointly. As a consequence, the roster is expected to grow proportionally stronger; the European Series is back after the opening round of 2011 held at Valencia, while the Italian Championship ran two weeks ago at Varano. After having left a great impression at the racetrack close to Parma, Prema Powerteam is eager to start with the same premises at the Adriatic venue.

At the Riccardo Paletti circuit, Luca Ghiotto had been able to fight for a podium position until the very latest stages, when a mechanical issue deprived him of a top-3 result. The feedback coming from last week's collective test though, showed how the Vicenza-based racer's great state of form is growing better and better.

The second car fielded by Prema Powerteam will be in the hands of Vicky Piria. The British-Italian female racer is now in perfect shape after the health issue suffered at Varano, and ready to challenge her main rivals at the Santamonica circuit. At the seaside venue, she always scored positive results and she's certainly looking to repeat this time too.

Angelo Rosin, Team Principal:

"Misano will be huge for the championship and for teams too, because the European Series and the Italian Championship will be crossing their roads for the first time. We will be taking part in an exciting event, with much more cars on the grid which will provide some spectacular and breath-taking action. Prema Powerteam is positively continuing in its 2011 run, as we achieved the goals we set at the start of the season. We also proved consistent and we fully expect to stay at the same level for this race".
