More than one month after the latest round at the Nurburgring, the FIA F.3 European Championship is about to be back on-track for the last 3-race stint of the 2013 season. The closing run for the series title will start this weekend at the Dutch Zandvoort venue, then teams and drivers will head to Vallelunga in Italy on the 13th of October before lining-up for the 2013 grand finale at Hockenheim just one week later.
Prema Powerteam is set to be a key part of the challenge while the Italian squad will be also racing at Le Castellet in this week's Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. The Prema operation, consisting of four Mercedes-powered Dallaras, is currently leading the overall championship with Raffaele Marciello, who leads the charts with 372,5 points, 72,5 more than his closest rival Felix Rosenqvist. In addition to that, the team is holding third and fourth place with Lucas Aurer (211 points) and Alex Lynn (202,5).
The Dutch round of the series is also expected to provide a new chance for Cheever to display the positive and consistent performances seen in the last few races.
Angelo Rosin – Team Principal
“The weekend is going to be very demanding because Prema will be running in two different championships, the European F.3 one and the Eurocup Formula Renault. We going for three delicate tasks. We have to retain the championship lead with Marciello, continue to stay on top with Auer and Lynn, and follow the constant growth of Cheever. We look forward to accomplishing all these three goals on a racetrack that has always be good to us.”
